Welcome to connectualise.wordpress.com!  Here you will see unfold the chronology of a community engagement project involving the meeting of some brilliant minds in the context of Capoeira and community building.

If you are a community development practitioner seeking a greater level of social participation and interpersonal connectedness for the individuals and families you work with, then I’d love to hear from you! Likewise, to all interested members of the community and to the Capoeiristas out there keen to explore how you can use your skills in new and meaningful ways, stay tuned, drop me an email, comment or phone call and help me get the conversations happening!

Over the coming months, I will add to this space my proposal for strengthening the connections between the art of Capoeira and the practice of community development.  I’ll also add a project plan that will guide me in this process.  Of course, I’ll also update this blog with my general progress and reflections and invite yours as well 🙂

Is that sketch a stylised rendition of a Capoeira practice session in front of the Opera House?

It can be whatever you want it to be, Seweryn! What appears to you as the Opera House sails I believe are the orchestra of ‘berimbaus’ feeding the game with lots of musical energy!

    Hi Janelle,
It seems we have a lot in common. Check out my blog http://kulchakonnect.blogspot.com/ and you’ll see a PCYC Capoeira performance to introduce my Cairns project. Thanks for your many smiles and cute laughs in class.
